- First Place Fencing Club takes GOLD at the San Jose North American Cup. The Junior Women's Saber team of Elizabeth Jug, Kelly Miller, Nicolette Stoddart and Stephanie Wang defeated a team from Northwestern University to earn the first ever Junior Women's Saber Team NAC event. While trading leads going through the sixth of nine bouts, Nicolette Stoddart performed admirably to maintain the lead in the last triple. After Stoddart, Kelly Miller pulled the lead wider by outscoring her opponent 5-3, bringing the team score to 40-35. Then, Elizabeth Jug closed out the match winning 45-43, despite a valiant comeback by the Northwestern anchor fencer Grainger.
